Description
Small as a pack of cigarettes, but a giant in terms of performance and features: the M 5DSP contains state-of-the-art technology and power in its ultra-compact housing.
Five amplifier channels, a powerful 7-channel “Fixed Point” audio DSP with 56-bit resolution and the proprietary Class GD technology predestine this amplifier for great car audio performance. Its minimal dimensions, high efficiency and low heat generation allow space-saving and hidden installation concepts that were previously not possible.
The M 5DSP has two power modes and can be run either in “HighPower” mode for maximum performance or in “MidPower” mode with moderate output power and lower power consumption for Plug & Play applications.
A subwoofer output, a remote output and the freely configurable 2-channel PreOut for connecting additional amplifiers provide additional connectivity. With the DSP PC-Tool software the integrated DSP can be configured according to your own wishes. The package includes a connection cable and an adapter cable for docking a MATCH Plug & Play or a conventional subwoofer.
Special features
Intelligent high-level input
Modern, factory-installed car radios are becoming increasingly intelligent in terms of diagnosing the connected speakers. If an amplifier is connected to the radio instead, it usually results in error messages up to the elimination of individual functions (such as faders). The new Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection (ADEP) circuitry eliminates all of these problems without unduly stressing the radio’s speaker outputs at high levels.
Two Performance
Options The M 5DSP features two performance modes, the HighPower mode for maximum performance, and the MidPower mode for reduced power output and lower power consumption for Plug and Play applications.
Automatic Digital Signal Detection
Switching between the analog and the digital input is signal-controlled. As soon as an audio signal is detected at the optical input, the amplifier switches over to this input. In the DSP PC-Tool software, this function can be deactivated or, alternatively, a manual control can be selected via an optionally available remote control.
Power save mode
The Power Save mode is activated in the basic settings of the DSP PC-Tool software. It allows to drastically reduce the power consumption of the M 5DSP (and possibly additionally connected amplifiers) if no input signal is present for more than 60 seconds. It should be noted that today many vehicles are equipped with “CAN” or similar internal bus systems that leave the radio “invisible” to the user for up to 45 minutes, even if you have meanwhile left the vehicle and completed. As soon as the “Power Save Mode” is active, the internal amplifier stages of the M 5DSP and the remote output are switched off, reducing the current consumption to less than 250 mA. The amplifier goes within 2 seconds. returns to normal operating condition as soon as a music signal is present at its input. It is also possible to vary the switch-off delay via the DSP PC-Tool software or to deactivate the “Power Save Mode” completely.
