Description
The new sound generation – HELIX DSP.2
The “technical heart” of the state-of-the-art HELIX DSP.2 is extremely elegant and compact, offering the latest 64-bit audio DSP with its enormous computing power of 295 MHz and 1.2 billion MAC operations Not only in this price range, unimagined sound optimization options per second.
The connection options leave nothing to be desired – six RCA and six high-level inputs with ADEP (Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection) circuitry, an optical SPDIF input and eight RCA preamp outputs with a maximum output voltage of 6 volts allow the most flexible plant concepts. But that’s not all – the HELIX Extension Card slot (HEC slot) makes it possible to extend the DSP.2 with additional interfaces such as a Bluetooth ® audio streaming module or a high resolution audio USB sound card.
And thanks to the completely redesigned DSP PC-Tool software V4, the configuration of the HELIX DSP.2 is easier and more versatile than ever despite the extended functionality.
Special features:
Intelligent high-level input
Modern, factory-installed car radios are becoming increasingly intelligent in terms of diagnosing the connected speakers. If a signal processor is connected to the radio instead, it usually results in error messages up to the elimination of individual functions (such as faders). The new Advanced Diagnostics Error Protection (ADEP) circuitry eliminates all of these problems without unduly stressing the radio’s speaker outputs at high levels.
Power save mode
The Power Save mode is activated in the basic settings of the DSP PC-Tool software. It allows to drastically reduce the power consumption of the amplifiers connected to the signal processor if there is no input signal for more than 60 seconds. It should be noted that today many vehicles are equipped with “CAN” or similar internal bus systems that leave the radio “invisible” to the user for up to 45 minutes, even if you have meanwhile left the vehicle and completed. As soon as the “Power Save Mode” is active, the remote output and thus the connected amplifiers are switched off. The HELIX DSP.2 reactivates the remote output within one second as soon as a music signal is present at one of its inputs. It is also possible
Start Plugability
The power supply in the HELIX DSP.2 ensures the internal power supply even with short-term drops down to 6 volts.
This ensures that the HELIX DSP.2 remains fully functional even when the engine is started.
Automatic Digital Signal Detection
Switching between the analog and the digital input is signal-controlled. As soon as an audio signal is detected at the optical input, the signal processor switches to this input. In the DSP PC-Tool software, this function can be deactivated or, alternatively, a manual control can be selected via an optionally available remote control.
